Raising the Barre | The Legacy of Kenneth MacMillan

May 23 - 24, 2020 

Thank you for your interest in ABT National Training Curriculum’s Raising the Barre Weekend Workshop: The Legacy of Kenneth MacMillan. The workshop is scheduled for May 23-24, 2020, at the Metropolitan Opera House and at ABT’s studios in New York, NY.

Be inspired by the life and work of Kenneth MacMillan, discover what made him the leading ballet choreographer of his generation, and explore how his legacy has impacted classical ballet as we know it. This workshop will be hosted by Cynthia Harvey, and will include a symposium led by Alastair Macauley, a performance of MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet by American Ballet Theatre, and technique classes and coaching by Dame Darcey Bussell, DBE, Leslie Browne and Robert La Fosse.

Teachers may bring Intermediate/Advanced students to participate, ages 13-18 years. Pointe work is required for girls. Student registration link is provided upon Teacher Registration. 

General Teacher Registration: $400
ABT Certified Teacher Registration: $300
Student Registration (ages 13-18) provided upon Teacher Registration: $200
Registration includes one orchestra ticket to attend MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet matinee performance on May 23, at 2pm.

Registration and tuition must be received by May 1, 2020.
