I am sure that our founder, Lucia Chase, would have been proud to see American Ballet Theatre now, at the height of artistic excellence, boldly producing ambitious new ballets and setting the bar for the presentation of the classics.

My name is Brian Heidtke, and I am the President of ABT. For over twenty years, I have taken great pride in watching our wonderful dancers perform on the world’s most famous stages, and to make sure that tomorrow’s audiences are also able to see ABT perform, I have made a legacy gift through a bequest in my estate plan to support the Company and sustain its future.

Today, I invite you to join the Lucia Chase Society, a special group of friends who, like me, have made legacy gifts to support ABT in perpetuity.

Will Bequests
The bequest language in your will can specify how and when your gift can be used by ABT, whether it is for a specific purpose, special funds, or for the ABT endowment. A bequest in your will is non-taxable for estate purposes.

Retirement Plans
By naming the ABT as the beneficiary on your IRA or other retirement plan, you can accomplish a charitable goal while achieving significant tax savings.

Charitable Remainder Trusts
This vehicle allows for you and your family to receive an income stream while providing the remainder of such trust to ABT.

Life Insurance Policies
By designating ABT as a beneficiary under your life insurance policy. You receive income tax deductions for any premiums you have left to pay.

Current Lucia Chase Society members have made legacy gifts to help us to produce world class performances, educate and train tomorrow’s dancers at the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School, and expand the horizons of thousands of students by exposing them to the power and creativity of dance. These activities are, in part, possible because of the foresight and generosity of our legacy giving members.

By including ABT in your long-term plans, you can achieve the goals that benefit you and your family, as well as ensure a bright and enduring future for ABT.
